If you haven’t yet jumped on the hard seltzer bandwagon, now’s the time. Have you been trying to cut back on sugary drinks this year? Trying to eat (and drink) healthier? Hard seltzers can help you do that. After all, sometimes, you just need something cold, sweet, and refreshing. Unfortunately, not all cold, sweet, and refreshing drinks are diet-friendly. That’s where hard seltzer recipes come in. Not only are they low in sugar, but they’re also gluten-free, vegan, and keto-friendly. Let’s check out some of my favorite homemade alcoholic drinks below.
1. Homemade White Claw Copycat Seltzer
This fruity, vibrant drink is slightly sweet and mostly tangy. It combines four bold flavors: grapefruit, mango, black cherry, and lime. The result is a robust, totally zingy drink that everyone at your party will love. It takes just 5 minutes to whip up and tastes amazing. Give it a try if you’re in the mood for something zesty.
2. Cucumber Lime Hard Seltzer
Cucumber lime seltzer might be a better option for something crisp and refreshing. It’s a simple 5-ingredient, 5-minute drink that reminds you of a calming day at the spa. It’s fizzy, fresh, and fantastic. It’s easy to make and even easier to enjoy. If you want to come home to something soothing after a hard day, this drink is it. Plus, each of these drinks has just 1.2 carbs and barely 100 calories. That means you can indulge without actually feeling too guilty.
3. Strawberry Hard Seltzer
This clear, bubbly drink might look like sparkling water, but it’s so much more. Each glass contains a full shot of vodka for a nice, boozy treat. This one also contains mint leaves and fresh strawberries. It’s sweet, bubbly, and minty fresh, and all that makes for an excellent combination. I won’t say it’s the quintessential summer drink, but it’s definitely delectable.
4. Grapefruit Seltzer Cocktail
Want something a little more bittersweet and biting? Try this grapefruit seltzer cocktail instead. It combines grapefruit seltzer water, vodka, grapefruit slices, and fresh rosemary. Add some ice cubes to make it cold, and you’re all set. It’s one cocktail that you won’t want to miss. That’s especially true if you need a little extra pep in your step. It has enough kick to wake you (and everyone else) up.
5. Raspberry Gin Seltzer
Most homemade hard seltzers use vodka as their main spirit. This one, though, uses gin. You use honey to sweeten it and raspberries and lime for tangy zest. Finish it off with mint leaves and Brizo Ginger Lime Craft Spiked Seltzer. It’s a sweet treat with a lovely reddish-pink color. It’s as pretty as it is tasty. It’s also the perfect fruity summer drink to help you beat the heat.
6. Mango Passionfruit Hard Seltzer
This one’s for anyone wanting something a little more tropical and exotic. It combines the unique flavors of passionfruit and mango. (There’s lime and mint, as well.) It’s a tropical, minty fresh delight that’s sure to brighten up your day. Best of all, you don’t have to have either of those fruits on hand. You just need some mango passionfruit tea bags! That makes the whole process simpler and less expensive.
7. Lemon Mango Hard Seltzer
This fun drink is bright, zesty, and will tickle your nose and tastebuds. It’s full of wonderfully light, lemon flavor and is low in carbs and calories. Now, keep in mind that this is a long-term brewing recipe. It’s not a seltzer cocktail that you can whip up in a few minutes. You need some very specialized ingredients and specific equipment to make it. It takes several days to finish it, but once you do, it’s divine. It contains about 3.8% ABV and has only 30 calories per serving. So it isn’t terribly strong. Of course, that means you can drink several of them without overdoing it. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a winning drink to me!
8. Witches Brew Hard Seltzer
I love the witches brew hard seltzer! It’s so gorgeous and so much fun to make and serve. It’s perfect for Halloween! And honestly, it’s so bright and pretty that you could serve it for multiple occasions. Even if it isn’t Halloween yet, people will still appreciate its lovely purplish hue. The bubbles in it are downright magical, too. As for the taste, it’s terrific and refreshing, with just a hint of tartness to bring it all together. Garnish it with a few toy spiders and skulls for the ultimate Halloween effect.
9. Lemon Basil Hard Seltzer
Try this recipe instead if you’re looking for a lemon seltzer that doesn’t take long. It’s incredibly easy to whip up. You muddle some basil leaves at the bottom of a glass. Then, you add ice, lemonade, sparkling water, and vodka to the mix. It tastes like bubbly lemonade with a vodka twist. If you’re looking for a light, refreshing summer drink, this one is certainly hard to beat. Plus, the notes of basil underneath are a delightful addition to the overall flavor. It doesn’t take away from the yummy taste. However, it does add an additional depth of flavor.
10. Berry Hard Seltzer (3 Ways)
Here, you have three different recipes for three berrylicious hard seltzers. The first, blackberry ginger juice, is a tart, spiced drink with an exciting and unique taste. The second is raspberry mint juice. It’s lighter and fresher. There’s still plenty of berry flavor, but there’s lots of minty freshness, too. The last option on the list is blueberry basil juice. Blueberries are some of my favorite berries, so this one is the one I like best. The berries pair surprisingly well with the earthy basil. Whichever one you choose, you won’t be disappointed. And neither will anyone you serve them to.
